Stories of transformation
"All those years of hurt were lifted off me, and I felt light as a feather."
-SABRINA
Growing up I’d bottle my feelings inside as I felt like a burden or the fear of being judged, seeing conflict as a child really affected me deeply, so this played a big part. I was always happy on the outside but on the inside I was hurting. Eventually to mask the hurt I’d fill the void I had in my heart with the things of this world to satisfy me, but when I was sober, I felt the exact same. Didn’t have much faith in God until one day I went to church and felt so overwhelmed I wanted to cry. I was very confused at this point I didn’t know what this meant. I began to pray to Jesus and I saw miracles it was amazing. One day there was a meeting held at my house and I felt the Holy Spirit. Coming from someone that didn’t cry infront of others, I wept like I never had before in front of everyone. Feeling the presence of God, it was like the biggest hug I didn’t know I needed. I felt like all those years of hurt, feelings bottled up were lifted off me and I felt light as a feather. It was that day I accepted Jesus as my Lord and saviour.
As life went on I was strong in faith until, life happened and I drifted from God as I started to grow up. Never forgetting he was my God, I rebelled. I would use and abuse God in my own selfish ways… until I had enough of living like this. Always felt like God was calling me to him and this time I listened. My aunt told me about All Nations so I started going. This time last year (March 2025) I was sat with a friend talking about this time next year I would have a new job, car, in a different stage of life. Where I was too busy thinking about the physical, God was transforming me spiritually. I gave my life to Christ a year later, Jesus laid down his life for me so it’s only right I give him mine. I didn’t know what love was until I met Jesus. The story of Jesus, is the ultimate love story. I thank Jesus everyday for the trials in life, because I wouldn’t be who I am today without him. One of the many verses that helped me during my time was, Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” and another was Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When I thought I was alone Jesus was with me at all times waiting for me to come to him, to talk to him, he never left my side. I knew the place I was in, where he picked me up from."The Bible became more than words on a page; it became the foundation of my relationship with God."

My journey to faith began through reading the Bible. What started as curiosity became completely life-changing for me. I began with the Gospels, reading about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Through His words, His compassion, His sacrifice, and the way He walked on earth, I began to understand what it truly means to follow Him.
The Bible showed me that no one is perfect, yet every person is deeply loved by God. Through the parables of Jesus and His example, I learned that faith is more than religion alone; it is trust, surrender, hope, and transformation. Above all else, I discovered the good news that through Jesus Christ there is grace, forgiveness, and eternal life.
As I continued reading Scripture, I realised the Bible is not simply a book to be studied intellectually or read like any other story. It must be approached with an open heart. The Word of God is living and active — it speaks, convicts, heals, and transforms. This is not just another book; it is life itself.
Jesus Himself showed how foundational the Word of God is to the life of a believer. When tempted in the wilderness, He responded: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." — Matthew 4:4
Christ also said: "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." — John 8:31–32
These verses became deeply meaningful to me because they reflected exactly what I experienced. Through reading the Bible, I did not simply gain knowledge — I encountered truth, purpose, peace, and the love of God.
My faith was rooted in Scripture before anything else. The more I read, the more I saw the reality of Christ and the depth of God's love for humanity. The Bible became more than words on a page; it became a guide for my life, a source of strength, and the foundation of my relationship with God.
Today, I am passionate about encouraging others to explore faith through reading the Bible for themselves. When approached with sincerity and an open heart, Scripture has the power to completely change a person's life — just as it changed mine.
